Ashlin Mallon, a freshman at Maria Carrillo High in California, finished fourth in the girls small school 2-mile race in 12:27.3 at the Ed Sias Invitational at Hidden Valley Park in Martinez, Calif. Mallon contributed to Maria Carrillo placing second as a team with 72 points. Mallon achieved the fastest freshman performance and the No. 5 overall girls time from all female races combined.
